Nitta Casings, formerly known as Devro North America, joined the Nitta family of companies in the summer of 1996. The company has a great deal in common with its new parent, Nitta Gelatin, one of the world's largest gelatin manufacturers. Aside from the natural synergies between them in terms of raw materials and technologies, the two companies share an outlook and attitude towards their work. Both are pioneers in their fields; both are committed to high quality products; both are strong believers in technology and the future; and, most importantly, both have dynamic and innovative employees who can turn possibilities into realities.

Long considered the "grandfather" of the collagen casing industry, Nitta Casings was the first company in the world to develop and market an edible collagen casing. With humble beginnings as a research and development arm of Johnson & Johnson, the company soon became known as Devro and earned a reputation as a pioneer in the industry. Now, under the banner of Nitta Casings, we plan to build on our historic past with a renewed spirit of commitment.

For Nitta Casings, our primary goal remains the same - to create greater customer satisfaction and, thereby, loyalty to our products. As a result, we will strive to improve quality and increase efficiency. This will be done by investment in and improvement of the company's current processes and by the infusion of new technology. It is our intention to remain in the forefront of the collagen casing industry.
